Accessibility Policy
At Longbow Venues we are dedicated to offering every guest an enjoyable and memorable experience. Located in heritage buildings, our venues are filled with charm and character. Whilst the heritage of our venues does present some architectural constraints, our friendly team is always on hand to offer support and ensure your comfort and enjoyment throughout your visit or stay.
Venue-specific accessibility information:
The Maynard, Grindleford
- Two marked out disabled car parking spaces
- Accessible toilet located next to The Chatsworth Suite – with lift access
- The bar area and top restaurant are accessible without stairs
- The Chatsworth Suite – our wedding and event space, is accessible via a lift or stairs
The George, Hathersage
- One marked out disabled car parking space to the left of the car park
- Accessible toilet located in the lounge area, right near the reception desk
- Step free access from the main entrance and small step from the courtyard entrance
- Step free access into the top area of the bar, lounge, restaurant and Dragon’s Den
- Room 21 – 25 can be accessed step free
The Ashford Arms
- One marked out disabled car parking space to the left of the main entrance
- Our accessible toilet is to the side of the reception desk
- There are slightly raised ledges by the front entrance. The bottom and top restaurant and the back bar are accessible. The front bar has a small step. Access to the pergola has a small step.
- The garden and pergola can be accessed from the garden, but please note this is slightly uneven and has gravel pavements.
The Peacock at Rowsley
- Four marked out disabled car parking spaces, a short distance from the front door
- Accessible toilet located near to the main dining room
- The restaurant and bar are on the same level but there is a small step for the main front door. If required, the ground floor can be accessed through the main restaurant via the garden through double doors.
Overnight stays
Unfortunately, with the exception of The George, Hathersage, none of our bedrooms in our venues are located on the ground floor nor accessible. For full details or specific queries about your visit, please contact a member of the team who will be able to advise you.

Parking Policy
At Longbow Venues we are dedicated to offering every guest a welcoming and enjoyable experience, ensuring every visit to our venues is seamless.
Venue-specific accessibility information:
The Maynard, Grindleford
The Maynard has Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) in place in the carpark. When you enter the carpark, you must register your vehicle when you go inside the venue using the iPad in reception and select the correct visit duration to ensure you do not receive a parking fine. Please park responsibly in the allocated car park spaces provided at the venue. In the event of receiving a parking fine after visiting us, please contact The Maynard directly with your reference number and proof of visit.
The George, Hathersage
The George has a barrier system, the barrier rises to let you in for your visit and out again. The four digit code for the barrier can be obtained from reception before leaving The George. The code changes fortnightly. Please park responsibly in the allocated car park spaces provided around the side of the venue.
The Ashford Arms
The Ashford Arms has Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) in place in the carpark. When you enter the carpark, you must register your vehicle when you arrive using the iPad in reception to ensure you do not receive a parking fine. You are given the option to select from 4 hours to 7 days so please choose the correct duration of your stay. Please park responsibly in the allocated car park spaces provided at the venue. In the event of receiving a parking fine after visiting us, please contact The Ashford Arms directly with your reference number and proof of visit.
The Peacock at Rowsley
Please park responsibly in the allocated car park spaces provided around the back of the venue.
The Peacock at Owler Bar
The Peacock at Owler Bar has Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) in place in the carpark. When you enter the carpark, you must register your vehicle when you go inside the venue using the iPad in reception to ensure you do not receive a parking fine. Please park responsibly in the allocated car park spaces provided at the venue. In the event of receiving a parking fine after visiting us, please contact The Peacock at Owler Bar directly with your reference number and proof of visit.

Dog Policy
At Longbow Venues, we warmly welcome well-behaved dogs on leads across all our venues, with the exception of main restaurant areas.
Venue-specific accessibility information:
The Maynard, Grindleford
Dogs are permitted in the bar area and garden. A selection of dog-friendly bedrooms are also available for overnight stays.
The George, Hathersage
Dogs are welcome in the courtyard, lounge and bar area.
The Ashford Arms
Dogs are welcome in the bar, bar dining area and our garden.
The Peacock at Rowsley
Dogs are welcome in the bar area, garden and designated dining areas. Dog-friendly accommodation is available for overnight stays.
The Peacock at Owler Bar
Dogs are welcome in the bar, bar dining space and our outdoor seating area.
General guidelines for dog owners:
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests, we kindly ask that dog owners observe the following:
- Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times while on the premises.
- Dogs must not be left unattended at any time during your visit.
- Only well-behaved, non-aggressive dogs are permitted.
- Excessive barking or disruptive behaviour may require you to remove your dog from
the premises. - Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
- Please respect the comfort of other guests.

We’re pleased to offer a limited number of dog-friendly rooms at The Maynard and The Peacock at Rowsley.
