Longbow Celebrates at the Prestigious Publican Awards 2025
We were thrilled to attend the Publican Awards 2025 (the biggest and most prestigious awards for pubs in the UK) and to be recognised not once, but twice, as finalists. Hosted by the wonderful Claudia Winkleman at Evolution London, the awards ceremony brought together the very best in the business, and we were proud to represent Derbyshire as the county’s only finalist.
Longbow Venues only launched in 2019 and became operational in 2020. We then hit pause multiple times through COVID restrictions, and there were times we wondered whether this dream of ours would survive. To be shortlisted for two awards and stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the most respected and long-established names in hospitality was an incredible moment.

Best Food and Best Pub Employer
We were shortlisted for both Best Food Offer and Best Pub Employer (up to 500 employees). Our food philosophy is built on premium, locally sourced ingredients, crafted with care. To have that recognised on a national platform is a huge achievement for our chefs and kitchen teams.
The Best Pub Employer award also felt particularly momentous for us. We’re deeply committed to creating a workplace culture where people can thrive. We created Longbow Venues to make hospitality a fun, viable, safe and rewarding career. We focus a lot of our efforts on nurturing talent, promoting from within where possible, so fast progression becomes a reality and not just a buzzword.
Rob Hattersley, Managing Director of Longbow Venues, said, “While we didn’t take home a win, we are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted alongside such industry heavyweights.
“Being recognised as a finalist at these national awards in Best Food Offer and Best Pub Employer underscores our commitment to excellence and our ethos in putting people before profile, always. This recognition has spurred us on to continue striving for the highest standards in everything we do.”
Stephen Atkinson, Operations Director at Longbow Venues, also shared his thoughts:
“Being celebrated for our food offering and commitment to our team means a great deal to us. We’ve always believed in a hands-on approach to hospitality, where the quality of food and service go hand in hand. These awards have reaffirmed our belief that a happy, well-supported team is the foundation of great service and experiences for our guests.”
